About the painting
The painting is characterised by a lightness and weightlessness that leads one into a world of magic, poetry and playfulness. Liss, the ‘Wurstelfrau’ invites the passer-by on a journey along the red thread and then leaves them in high spirits ready to explore the Prater.
Many elements of the painting pay homage to the old Prater; the tight-rope walker, the aerialist and the large Chinese section which alludes to the “Großer Chineser” (The big Chinaman) one of the landmark attractions of the ‘Wurstelprater’.
When I think of the ‘Wurstelprater’ I think of, taking off, flying and escaping daily life. Thus, all the flying elements like the balls, dandelion seeds, the flying people, leaves, kites, horsey, the blue spirals etc.. expressing rhythm, dancing tones, music made visible, pulsating, swaying, floating…
Art is energy and as such connects to people. It was my intent and aim that those who move along the painting leave it feeling uplifted and to give them the feeling of pleasure and energy with which the painting was created. I have a dream to give back a little magic and the belief in miracles to our disenchanted world and this is a dream that I wish to share with others. It is our thoughts and feelings that form the world.......

...and here is a small blue horsey that unites our desire for freedom and a peaceful soul....... |
